Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center - Richmond, VA

From the Medical Center Director

My fellow Veterans, on behalf of 314 million Americans and countless others around the world who enjoy freedom because of your sacrifice, thank you for your service to our Nation.  On behalf of the nearly 3,000 staff, volunteers and students who comprise our Richmond VA Medical Center Team thank you for the honor and privilege of being your health care provider.  I want to enhance communications, between you, our medical center and our Veteran Service Organizations.

We provide regular information updates to this site that we hope you will find useful and we always welcome your feedback.
We have had a busy 2012 so far, from the opening of our beautiful new Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Fredericksburg to the expansion of our Polytrauma program, pharmacy, main information desk, centralized registration and more.  Numerous other construction and renovations projects are underway throughout the facility.

We also wanted you to know that in September 2012 our medical center was recognized as a United States Senate Productivity Quality Award winner for our facility’s commitment to performance excellence.  In the same month we were also recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired Hospitals because of our rapid adoption and effective use of technology across our medical center.

Our nationally acclaimed cardiac program, Parkinson’s disease care, Polytrauma rehabilitation programs and Spinal Cord Injury & Disorder centers set the standard for excellence in clinical services as we strive to create an exceptional overall patient experience for every Veteran and their family members.

When you are in the medical center, we hope you will give us feedback about your experience by utilizing our “Tell it to the Director” program. There are several boxes located around the medical center and forms for your comments.  Additionally, you may want to visit our Patient Experience Center, located in the mall area near the Starbucks coffee shop. We want to hear about your experience as a patient, as well as any observations or ideas you have about how we could improve our service.

I read and welcome your comments and will look forward to hearing from you soon.
