The Rural Health team from Richmond VAMC will participate in the Army Birthday Celebration to be held this Saturday July 18, 2011, 10:00a.m. at the Virginia War Memorial.
“We are pleased to be a part the Celebration for the Army’s Birthday and to meet and talk with Veterans while we are there.” Staff members at the event will also include an Enrollment Specialist along with Health Educators to assist Veterans currently not enrolled for VA care.
There will be displays of the Rural Health Mobile Unit, Army vehicles and equipment as well as re-enactor, patriotic ceremonies, interactive videos and challenging games for kids.
Enrollment – The team brings an Enrollment Specialist to make sure each Veteran is aware of their benefits and to assist with the application process.
Social Work – Health professionals provide initial and continued assessment of patients and caregiver needs.
Nursing – Our Nurse Educators provide care and health education. They can assist Veterans with making healthier lifestyle choices to enhance their wellness.
