Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center - Richmond, VA

Education Service at McGuire VAMC is responsible for the continued support and educational needs of over 2,100 staff. In addition to employees who are comprise of a significant number of Veterans, all can increase their capacity to work effectively through both formal and informal learning experiences; including patients, families, students and affiliates. 

Recently joining the team as Education Technician is Ms. Desireé Jones. Ms. Jones will be responsible for processing education travel and making recommendations for process improvements. Ms. Jones served four years in the Navy as an Operations Specialist and another two years in the Army Reserves as an Administrative Specialist.

“She is quickly adapting to the demands of the unit and needs of the medical center said Kristin Windon, Associate Chief, of Nursing. She is an excellent addition to our service.” Education Service is staffed by a team of health professionals, providing a multi-cross platform of educational services and support for trainees; tuition and travel; medical media, audio-visual requirements, electronic signage, library resources, nursing, staff, and leadership development.

“As a Veteran, it is an honor to work in an environment that provides care to Veterans. My goal is to provide the best service possible. Not only to my fellow Veterans, but also to the customers I will be assisting each day stated Ms. Jones.”
