As one of the flagship Veteran Medical Centers in VISN 6, McGuire VA Medical Center provides a full range of inpatient and outpatient surgical services. The team is excited to welcomes its newest team member, Carmen Quinones.
The Service is staffed by a team of 46 dedicated surgeons who also hold dual appointments with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine.
In addition, Surgical Services employs an exceptional team of highly qualified support personnel including physician assistants, nurse practitioners, technicians, and administrative support staff. In FY2010, Surgery Service provided care to nearly 20,000 unique Veterans.
“Carmen, Surgical Services Secretary, is a member of the administrative support team which ensures daily functions within the Service run smoothly, said John Hunter, Administrative Officer for Surgical Services. Her primary responsibilities include administrative assistance to the Chief of Surgery as well as to the General Surgery and Plastic Surgery specialties.”
