Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work
Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work. Over 25 young adults were on hand to learn how their parents provide care for our Veterans.

On June 29, many of the staff and their kids from McGuire VAMC participated in the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work. Over 25 young adults were on hand to learn how their parents provide care for our Veterans.

It was a day of education and teamwork as participants toured the facility, assisted Volunteers and received various work assignments throughout the day.

“We are so thankful to our young adult Volunteers, said Vanessa Falden, EEO Specialist and Program Coordinator. They could have spent the day playing video games, but instead they were here working with us. The experience and exposure of a day like this will be a memory of a life time for most of the families represented here today."

The program continues its focus on the competing challenges adults face integrating work and family. The program is designed to allow parents, guardians, and mentors to share their work lives and introduce these issues to their daughters and sons.

Thank you to everyone that made this day a successful one.
