The DMV2 Go Van visited the Richmond VA Medical Center campus this week offering Veterans an opportunity to apply for the new Veteran identification card that was introduced earlier in the summer by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The card provides Veterans ready identification as a Veteran and access to community discounts for Veterans.
In spite of inclement weather for the day, the DMV Van was visited by numerous Veterans to obtain a wide array of DMV services in the convenient setting. During the visit, Veterans could also apply for the new Veteran identification card with a copy of their DD214 (military discharge papers) and a ten dollar fee. The ID card is then mailed to Veteran in about a week.
The Veterans who visited the mobile van expressed appreciation for the Van stop. A Veteran who visited the Van stated, “it was easy to apply for the ID card and the customer service was great”. Future DMV return visits will be planned.
