The Rural Health Initiative Program
The Rural Health Initiative Program (RHIP) from McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia provides an opportunity for Veterans and their family members to find out about VA healthcare services. The team offers VA eligibility determination and enrollment services for VA Healthcare to eligible Veterans. Team members also provide health education in the form of literature, pamphlets, displays and conducts classes to encourage healthy lifestyles.
The goal of the Rural Health Initiative Team is to build strong community bridges while providing healthcare services to Veterans living in rural communities. In serving Veterans in Rural Central Virginia, the RHIP team is prepared for indoor or outdoor venues to include our 28’ mobile unit.
If you are unable to attend one of our events, we will be glad to send you an enrollment packet with a self-addressed envelope to mail back to the VA with a copy of your DD214. We can also assist you in obtaining a copy of your DD214 if you do not have a copy already.
