Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

About the Program

The Richmond VA Medical Center Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS) serves as one of five lead centers of Polytrauma Rehabilitation throughout the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) System of Care.  PM&RS provides multiple services that cross into a variety of medical and therapeutic disciplines.

The primary mission of our programs is to provide comprehensive rehabilitative care for those who have served our nation. We are committed to the provision of high quality, ethical, and cost-effective treatment to individuals in our catchment area. We also believe that quality of life is enhanced by improving functional independence, increasing participation in social activities, and preventing further injury or illness.
